Introducing the Next Gen Ford Everest

The Next-Generation Ford Everest comes with a new up-spec engine, a completely redesigned interior, and a reworked model line-up with more options.

The Ford Everest will be available in Ambient, Trend, Sport and Platinum variants. Ambiente, Trend versions are now available with rear-wheel drive, four-wheel-drive, and a 2.0-litre twin-turbocharged four-cylinder diesel engine. The 3.0-litre single-turbo diesel V6 will be available as an option in the Sport or as a standard fit in the range-topping Platinum. All models have a permanent four-wheel-drive system option with a selectable off-road mode and a two-speed electromechanical transfer case that is electrically adjusted on-demand.

You can use the FordPass app to start, lock, and unlock your vehicle remotely, as well as check its status, but it can now be used to change available zone lighting and test the trailer lights. The app can also book services and arrange for a service loan vehicle at participating dealers.

A glimpse at what is extra in the Next-Gen Ford Everest!

The Exterior: The Everest has a 50mm wider track and longer wheelbase. The Ford global design DNA is reflected in the C-clamp headlamps and full horizontal top grille bar. The new Integrated roof rails are built not just for looks. Matrix LED headlights available only on Platinum elevate illumination performance to new heights, with dynamic bending glare-free high beam and auto dynamic levelling to provide safer lighting. Everest’s rooftop can now support static weights of up to 350kg and dynamic loads of up to 100kg, allowing it to transport bicycles, canoes, cargo pods, and rooftop tents, among other items.

The Powertrains: The Ford 10 speed automatic is standard across all variants, with the power being supplied by the new 3.0L V6 turbocharged engine as well as Ford’s tried-and-true 2.0L Bi Turbo-Diesel engine.

4×4: The Next-Gen Everest vehicles have a unique permanent four-wheel-drive system with changeable drive modes and an on-demand two-speed electromechanical transfer case that is electrically controlled (EMTC).

Towing: The Next-Gen Everest has a maximum braked towing capacity of 3500kg when fitted with an optional factory Tow Pack, which now includes an integrated trailer brake controller. All series include a trailer light check and a trailer connection checklist, and a new Tow/Haul drive mode that improves gearshift reaction when towing.

Parking Brake and E-shifter: The new e-Shifter (on all 4×4 types) and electric park brake (on alt models) enable improved centre-console storage, wireless smartphone charging, and a greater sense of spaciousness at the front of the cabin.

Off-Road Screen: A dedicated screen for all off-road choices is provided in the Trend 4×4, Sport, and Platinum variants. Predictive overlay instructions, driveline and diff lock indicator, steering angle, and vehicle pitch all incorporated, bolstered by the addition of a 360-degree camera, which, when combined with a front-facing camera view, provides even more vision.

Fully Digital Cabin: A portrait-oriented high-resolution 10.1-inch (Ambiente) or 12-inch (Trend, Sport, Platinum) touchscreen is in the centre of the cabin. Ford’s latest SYNC 4A1 networking and entertainment system, which supports Apple and Android wireless smartphone connectivity, is standard on the Next-Gen Everest. Remote start, vehicle status check, and remote lock and unlock services are all available through FordPass on compatible mobile devices, increasing the ownership experience.” There’s also an inbuilt modem that allows consumers to connect to Everest when using the FordPassTM App.”

Drive Modes: The Next-Gen Everest can manage everything from smooth roads to mud and ruts, and everything in between, thanks to up to six adjustable drive modes: On-road options include Normal, Eco, Tow/Haul, and Slippery (all models), while off-road settings have Mud/Ruts and Sand (available on Trend 4×4, Sport, and Platinum variants).

Bigger Space: For those in the front and back, there’s more elbow, leg, and shoulder room, and accessing the third-row seats is now easier thanks to second-row seats that slide further forwards than before. The Platinum, which comes with a panoramic roof, is even more spacious.
