Established in 2022, the Gerald Slaven Community First Program supports local charities, support groups and sporting groups with a $500 donation each month. Organisations that have benefited from this support so far include the Belconnen Bandits Baseball Team, Canberra Pet Rescue, Percy Begg Street Pantry, Walk-W-Me, Roundabout Canberra and the Belconnen Ramblers Basketball Team. Soldier On is a progressive organisation working to secure the futures of all those who have served and continue serving our Nation in the Australian Defence Forces. Gerald Slaven generously donated a full-time vehicle to Soldier On for over a decade until the vehicle was no longer required by the Soldier On team. The dealership also offers a considerable new car purchase discount to all current and former ADF personnel.

Gerald Slaven believes the sponsorship of grass-level sports is an essential part of our community and as such, has been one of the major sponsors of this Rugby League Club since 2015.

For the past decade Gerald Slaven has been a staunch supporter of Ronald McDonald House in Canberra, a home away from home for hundreds of families each year whose children are in the Canberra Hospital Intensive Care Unit.

During their stay, which can last many months, families receive free accommodation and meals, all paid for by organisations like Gerald Slaven. At this year’s annual gala event in March, as we’ve done in previous years, we pledged to cover the cost of 30 nights’ accommodation for families in need.

The Carers ACT Charity Bowls Day is an annual fundraising event organized to support unpaid carers in the Australian Capital Territory (ACT). It’s a day of lawn bowls and community fun, with all proceeds going towards Carers ACT’s services, which include education, social activities, and practical support for carers and their families. The event has been held for 18 years, raising over $1.5 million for the cause. Gerald Slaven has been a proud sponsor of this amazing event for many years. For the past 2 seasons Gerald Slaven has proudly partnered with the UC Canberra Capitals, the ACT’s only professional women’s basketball team competing in the Women’s National Basketball League (WNBL). As the exclusive automotive partner to the Caps, we provide half a dozen vehicles to the team to assist them in attracting top-tier international and Australian players, elevating the team’s competitiveness and ensuring they reach new heights in the league.
