Gerald Slaven: Driving the UC Capitals Forward

September 4, 2025

At Gerald Slaven Volkswagen, we are proud to continue our support of the UC Canberra Capitals, the ACT’s only professional women’s basketball team competing in the Women’s National Basketball League (WNBL). For the past two seasons, we’ve been the exclusive automotive partner for the Caps, providing vehicles that help attract and support world-class athletes.

Our partnership goes beyond just cars—it’s about empowering the team, growing the game, and ensuring the Capitals can reach new heights on and off the court. By supplying half a dozen vehicles to players and staff, we help make it easier for the team to focus on what they do best—delivering exciting basketball to the Canberra community.

This season, we’re excited to see some incredible talent join the roster. French international and former WNBA player Kadi Sissoko has signed with the Caps, bringing her strength and international experience to the team. Alongside her, the Capitals have also secured the powerhouse forward Zitina Aokuso, a key signing set to make a huge impact this season.

We were lucky enough to have some of the players and Head Coach Paul Goriss, drop in to pick up their brand new Volkswagen T-Cross’s:
